About Me

Hello! My name is Rachel and am a professional Beauty Therapist and Aesthetician.

Training
I received my NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy and NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Spa Therapy at the University College of Birmingham, UK in 2003. 

These courses are governed by HABIA and accredited by BABTAC  the British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology.

After qualifying, I decided to continue my post graduate education by completing additional courses in:
  • Traditional Indian head massage, 
  • Hot Stone Therapy
  • Ear Candling
  • Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage &
  • Indonesian Balinese Massage
My treatments include a focus toward aromatherapy, using plant based skincare and a holistic approach to the entire therapeutic experience.

Experience
Prior to completeing my formal Beauty Therapy education, I also trained under several beauty brands and worked in the retail sector since 2000.

Whilst at college, I began working at Hotel Du Vin, Birmingham, as a Spa Therapist, and then later in the same position at Amala Spa at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham.


Whilst working for both luxury hotels, I was lucky enough to train under several professional brands, including:

Beauty Therapy
In short, the term ‘Beauty therapy’ in the UK, covers a wide range of treatments that are practiced on clients including facial treatments, make up application, waxing, manicures, pedicures, body massage, aromatherapy and spa therapy.

Esthetics Licence
Upon relocating to the United States, several years later, I have also obtained a License to practice Esthetics in New York State.
